Wild Things
Here’s a board I painted for a customer in North Carolina. ”Where The Wild Things Are” was the first book he ever read to his son. This was a scene that I thought would look great laid out on a board so I was really excited to get this one done. I’m happy, and I hope his son is happy with it too! : )
Max
The first of a series….
Bedtime stories with the girls gave me the inspiration for a “Where The Wild Things Are” skateboard. I’m going to paint two more for the first set. Max on one and a monster for each new board. I have so many options, ideas, and directions to run with…Let the wild rumpus start!!!
A Pirate’s Life
“A Pirate’s Life” ~ an original design by Katie
This was the first skateboard I attempted. I came up with this tat00-style pirate pin-up design and gave it a go. I was really happy with the way it came out. It gave me the motivation to paint some more…
Jerry Garcia
Jerry was my first attempt at a black and white portrait painted on a skateboard…. I had one shot to get it done as a surprise while Carl was out of town. With The Grateful Dead on my ipod for inspiration, it took 7 straight hours of painting through the night to have it ready for Valentine’s Day. Now THAT’s love. : )
Johnny Cash
Bob Marley
Now who doesn’t love Bob Marley?
This was another Valentine’s Day board. This time around I decided to incorperate a quote on the backside just to make it a little more personal….
awwww! Love would never leave us alone….
- “Love would never leave us alone”
Guns N Roses
Welcome to the Jungle
I knew I couldn’t go too long before painting this one. : ) After doing the Bob Marley board I felt pretty confident with the process of painting faces… It was still a challenge. I just wish I had more time for each session. For now, I only get about an hour of uninterupted painting before my undevided attention is demanded elsewhere…

one man’s trash…
So, my neighbor threw out this old, unfinished, handmade wood table. It sat in the alley behind our houses for about a month before I asked if I could take it home. I wish I took a “before” picture to show you what it looked like. I didn’t think about it until I stained the legs and painted the top green. But here’s “start” and finish of the table.
Anchors Aweigh
My latest board, another for my customer in NC. His wife’s favorite band, the Bouncing Souls….
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
